Advaita in SL

Along with Buddhism, I have affinities with Advaita — direct nondual awareness, which could also be described as a Hindu version of dzogchen — in part a result of a transformative week-long silent retreat with Catherine Ingram some years ago. So it was with considerable interest that I watched an Avdaita podcast which talks about some Advaita “presence” in Second Life.

One of the podcasters notes how SL affords an immersion in awareness of the illusory nature of the world… which at least has the potential for loosening a habitual grip on RL assumptions. Fun stuff, as we individually and collectively poke at the boundaries of self/not-self/nonself.

I did find the in-world group and their mini-island, but haven’t yet chatted with the couple of folks who seem to be in-world.
